# Amazon Distribution Partnership: OBG Buys and Sells Your Inventory

> How Online Brand Growth's Amazon Distribution Partnership works: OBG purchases inventory from your company and sells it through its own Amazon store, taking on the operational burden of the channel.

**In an Amazon Distribution Partnership, Online Brand Growth purchases inventory from your company and sells it through OBG's own Amazon store, using its full agency capabilities to grow the channel and increase the size of the purchase orders it places with you.** It is one of OBG's three [engagement models](/reference/pricing-and-engagement), and the one with the lowest operational burden for the brand.

## How It Differs From Account Management

In the [Seller Central Account Growth (3P)](/reference/pricing-and-engagement) model, OBG works inside your Seller Central account as your team, and you remain the seller of record. In a Distribution Partnership, the relationship is closer to a wholesale account: you sell product to OBG, and OBG is the seller on Amazon.

| | Seller Central Account Growth (3P) | Amazon Distribution Partnership |
| - | - | - |
| Who sells on Amazon | Your company, in your Seller Central account | OBG, through its own Amazon store |
| Your day-to-day involvement | Collaborate with OBG's team; daily Slack, weekly calls | Fulfill purchase orders; OBG runs the channel |
| How your revenue arrives | Amazon disbursements to your account | Purchase orders from OBG |
| Advertising, SEO, logistics, brand protection | Performed by OBG inside your account | Performed by OBG for its own listings of your products |
| Best fit | Brands that want to own the channel with expert help | Brands that want Amazon handled end to end |

## Who It Fits

* Brands and manufacturers that want Amazon to be a growth channel without building or supervising Amazon operations internally
* Companies already set up to sell wholesale, where a purchase order relationship is the natural fit
* Brands that want the same [advertising](/services/amazon-ppc-management), SEO, operations, and [360 Brand Protection™](/services/360-brand-protection) capabilities applied to their products, with OBG carrying the operational load

As with every OBG model, OBG partners only with brands and manufacturers - [not resellers](/faq#does-obg-work-with-resellers) - and operates within your broader brand strategy, including pricing and promotion constraints.

## Why an Operator, Not Just a Distributor

OBG owns and operates its own brands on Amazon and has managed 500+ partner brands. A Distribution Partnership applies that operating capability to your products: the goal is to grow sell-through so purchase order quantities grow with it, not simply to move inventory.

## Getting Terms

Purchase terms, order cadence, and scope are specific to each brand and are discussed on a [free 45-minute intro call](https://www.onlinebrandgrowth.com/#book-call) with co-founder Jon or Dan. OBG does not publish pricing or wholesale terms. Not sure which model fits?
